Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Travel This opportunity offers multiple special education teaching roles across different grade levels, focused on supporting diverse learners in a travel position based in New Holland, PA. These roles provide a chance to make a meaningful impact by working with students who have cognitive and autism spectrum needs, within well-supported classroom environments. Key Responsibilities Deliver instruction and support for secondary/high school students in Life Skills classrooms (grades 9-11), primarily serving learners with cognitive challenges and varied classroom attendance Provide supplemental autism support for middle and high school learners who require social and academic assistance beyond traditional supports Teach elementary students with autism, using verbal and AAC communication techniques, and manage any behavioral challenges Collaborate with paraprofessionals, 1:1 staff, and personal care assistants to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and facilitate inclusive learning Maintain daily schedules aligned with academic blocks, intervention times, and preparation periods, ensuring effective classroom management and student progress Participate in interventions, clubs, or additional learner support during designated periods Desired Qualifications and Experience Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience working with students with cognitive disabilities and autism spectrum disorders Knowledge of secondary Life Skills curriculum, autism support strategies, and behavioral interventions Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and other support staff effectively Strong communication and classroom management skills Location and Schedule Based in New Holland, PA, with travel between schools as needed Hours generally between 7:25-2:45 for secondary roles and 8:15-3:45 for elementary role, Monday through Friday Engage in a rewarding role that promotes the growth and development of diverse learners through specialized teaching practices and teamwork.
