Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

We are seeking a Classroom Aide to join our team at our program in Philadelphia, PA. Earn UP TO $21.57Fulltime Monday- Friday 8:00am - 3:30pm.

Position Details and Duties

The Classroom Aide is a school employee who works under the direction of a certified Special Education Teacher to support and assist in providing instructional programs and services to children with disabilities or eligible young children. The support and assistance include one-on-one, or group review of material taught by certificated staff, classroom management, and implementation of positive behavioral support plans. Services may be provided in a special education class, regular class, or instructional setting as provided in the students' IEP.

Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, etc. as assigned by theclassroom teacher.



Supervise students in designated areas and as assigned (e.g. hallways, bathrooms, cafeterias,playground, gym, field trips, etc.).Monitor all classroom students' performance and record relevant data daily to assess progress.



Assist children individually or in small groups in order to help them master and reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.



Participate in parent - teacher conferences, as appropriateAssist in bus loading and unloading of students from transportation.



Will fulfill duties of a Behavior Technician as needed.



Other appropriate duties as assigned to meet programmatic needs.

Required:

Have completed at least 2 years of post-secondary study; or Possess an associate degree or higher.

OR 1 - 3 years relevant verifiable experience in providing instructional programs and services to children with disabilities or eligible young children, classroom management, and implementation of positive behavioral support plans.
