Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering developmental growth, implementing innovative curricula, and creating an inclusive classroom that promotes curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning. Your leadership will ensure that each child's unique needs are met with compassion, expertise, and enthusiasm, setting the foundation for lifelong success. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the educational journey of children while collaborating with dedicated staff and families. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, speech therapy, and behavioral health strategies. Manage classroom activities to promote positive behavior management and effective classroom management techniques. Collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other educators to support children with autism, developmental disabilities, or special education needs. Conduct assessments and utilize IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals to tailor instruction for each student's growth trajectory. Mentor and support assistant teachers and student interns to foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress through standardized testing results, behavioral observations, and progress reports. Engage families through regular communication about their child's development, milestones, and strategies for at-home support. Requirements Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or preschool settings; prior private school or Montessori experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, special education practices, and behavior management techniques. Experience working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), hearing impairments (deaf education), or other developmental challenges. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and library services for young learners. Ability to perform proofreading of educational materials and communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members. Certification or training in speech therapy, behavioral health, or early intervention is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills combined with a nurturing mentoring style that encourages curiosity and independence in students.
