Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students during Extended School Year (ESY) programming! Positions are available for passionate Special Education Teachers in elementary and middle school life skills/autistic support, as well as elementary learning support/emotional support settings. These roles are vital for helping students continue their learning journey through the summer months.
Positions available include:
Elementary Life Skills/Autistic Support (grades K-2 or 3-5): 8:30 am - 1:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Middle School Life Skills/Autistic Support (grades 6-8): 8:00 am - 1:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.
Elementary Learning Support/Emotional Support:
8:30 am - 11:00 am, Monday through Thursday. All roles run from June 29 to July 30.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-issued) Experience with life skills classrooms, autistic support, or emotional/learning support preferred Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners Strong communication and collaboration skills Experience working with elementary and/or middle school age groups Positive, patient, and flexible attitude
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and individualized instruction aligned with each student's IEP Develop and implement strategies to support social, emotional, and academic growth Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families Maintain accurate records and provide progress updates Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment Participate in staff meetings and necessary training Enjoy fulfilling work in a supportive environment with daytime hours and the opportunity to enrich students' summers.
