A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

ASAP York Suburban Middle School is looking for an Autistic Support Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year!
TITLE:
Autistic Support Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field, experience working with students with disabilities, understanding of special education regulations and best practices, patience and empathy for supporting the wellbeing of the student and commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
CERTIFICATION
Must hold a valid Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (K-12)
REPORTS TO
Building Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Annual salary, work schedule and other conditions of employment in accordance with theYork Suburban Education Association negotiated agreement.
