Job Summary and Qualifications This Medicare Appeals Specialist position will be appeals focused and responsible for all aspects of Medicare appeals receivable processing, including but not limited to, collections, account and system maintenance, technical appeal writing, payor portal navigation, process reconciliation, and productivity reporting. What you will do in this role: Reviews all claims for completeness, reasonableness of charges and appropriateness of billing codes and payer information Identify in scope denial reasons and validate that Appeals criteria is met Pursues timely collection of each appealed claim using thorough follow-up efforts appropriate to each payer Ability to perform basic math to ensure accurate statement of accounts receivable. Contacts and effectively communicates with all parties involved in the resolution of accounts placed Performs all tasks necessary to maintain current and accurate account information in each of the appropriate systems Escalate problems and account issues to immediate supervisor daily What qualifications you will need: Minimum of 2 years Medicare claim process experience Experience with insurance collections, appeals, and medical billing is strongly preferred.
