Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher with expertise in supporting visually impaired students through telehealth services in Columbia, SC. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction and developing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments, utilizing telepractice methods to ensure accessibility and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to visually impaired students using telehealth platforms. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with special education guidelines. Collaborate with families and support staff to monitor student progress and adjust strategies accordingly. Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance learning experiences. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student assessments and interventions. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and telehealth.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with visually impaired students and familiarity with vision-related disabilities. Proficiency in telehealth platforms and remote instructional techniques. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage caseload through virtual formats. Commitment to student-centered approaches and inclusive education principles.
