Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role supporting the academic and developmental needs of students across several school sites for the 2026-2027 academic year. This opportunity involves collaborating with diverse teams in both elementary, middle, and high school environments, where you'll make a daily impact on learners in a range of settings, from moderate self-contained classrooms to co-taught resource rooms.
Key Qualifications:
Valid South Carolina Special Education Teacher License, with Multi-categorical endorsement or required certifications. Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students in resource, co-taught, and self-contained settings. Flexibility to work onsite (virtual/remote options may be discussed closer to the school year). Excellent communication and documentation skills. Positive, team-oriented mindset and the ability to adapt to varied classroom dynamics. CPR/First Aid certification (preferred). Role Highlights:
Serve at multiple school locations—elementary, middle, and high schools. Hours range between 35-37.5 per week; some part-time opportunities available (18-20 hours/week in specific middle school settings). Deliver special education services in moderate, multi-categorical self-contained classrooms and co-taught resource rooms. Foster inclusive learning environments, adapting instruction to individual student needs. Collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
