Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact guiding students across multiple sites as a contract Special Education Teacher. Several opportunities are available at the elementary, middle, high school, and PreK levels through the end of May 2027. Support learners in a variety of settings—ranging from moderate special classrooms to co-taught resource rooms and multi-category, self-contained environments—while collaborating closely with dedicated educational professionals.

Desired Qualifications:

Active South Carolina Special Education Teacher License Certification or endorsement in Multi-categorical, Early Childhood, or other required areas Experience teaching students with varying abilities, particularly in moderate or specialized settings Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills Commitment to creating inclusive and engaging learning environments

Role Highlights:

Deliver instruction and support in special education settings—opportunities available at elementary, middle, high school, and PreK levels Develop, implement, and modify individualized education programs (IEPs) Collaborate with general education teachers in co-taught resource rooms Employ creative strategies to engage students with diverse learning needs Work onsite at assigned schools with established hours (vary by site) Maintain student records and provide progress updates to stakeholders
