Make a significant impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, serving K-12 learners across multiple schools in the Chattanooga area. This full-time contract runs from August 5, 2026, to May 19, 2027, with the option to explore part-time schedules for the right candidates. With a caseload evenly distributed between elementary, middle, and high school students, you'll collaborate with both general education and special education teams, providing essential instruction and adaptive support where it's needed most.
Key Qualifications:
Valid DOE certification required At least 5 years of experience as a Virtual Teacher for the Visually Impaired if applying for potential remote opportunities Proficiency with Braille and assistive technology is essential; familiarity with Federal Quota program processes is a plus Comfortable supporting students in both inclusive and specialized classroom settings Experience with IEP development and participation, specifically using platforms like TN Pulse Able to complete fingerprinting and other credentialing requirements as needed
What You'll Do:
