Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a direct impact in the lives of students as a contract Teacher for the Visually Impaired in the Springfield, OR area. This full-time opportunity (37.5-40 hours/week) involves working across several locations within the district, providing vital support and education to students with visual impairments. The assignment's specific details and school locations will be determined in alignment with the upcoming academic calendar, but you can anticipate a schedule running from mid/late August through late May or early June.
Key Qualifications:
Certification in teaching students with visual impairments required. Expertise in adapting curriculum and teaching materials for visually impaired learners. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Willingness to travel throughout the district as needed (travel within the school district is integral to this role). Ability to work on-site at all assigned locations; remote or hybrid work is not available.Core Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students. Provide direct instruction using specialized techniques and adaptive technology. Consult with general education teachers and staff to ensure appropriate accommodations. Conduct assessments and help monitor student progress. Collaborate closely with families and IEP teams. Maintain accurate records in compliance with district and special education guidelines.
