Qualifications:

Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist Experience working with high school-aged students in educational environments Strong understanding of current best practices and assistive technologies for DHH students Ability to develop, adapt, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Excellent communication skills, particularly in virtual/remote contexts Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere

Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of one high school student requiring DHH services Collaborate with school teams, families, and service providers to coordinate and deliver effective interventions Engage in regular communication and deliver instruction virtually, ensuring consistent access and feedback Monitor the student's progress, adjusting strategies and supports as necessary Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings Promote self-advocacy and independence for the student within the academic setting
