Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in an itinerant, full-time role for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity is designed for passionate educators dedicated to supporting visually impaired learners in a supportive educational environment. While this role is primarily in-person, some flexibility with hybrid schedules is possible.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Washington State certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Demonstrated experience or coursework in visually impaired education Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams Flexibility to travel to various schools as part of an itinerant assignment Commitment to individualized instruction and accessibility for all learnersKey Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to the general curriculum Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, counselors, and related service providers to create effective learning solutions Adapt and modify instructional resources, materials, and environments to accommodate student needs Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and ongoing progress monitoring Provide consultative support and training to faculty and staff regarding best practices in visual impairment education Communicate regularly with families to promote student success and facilitate smooth transitions between schools as needed This contract role offers the unique chance to foster student growth and promote independence.
