ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following list of specific duties or functions of a student worker is not intended to be exhaustive of all possibilities but, rather, to outline some of the most important aspects of the job. Pursue professional study in the teaching field; keep abreast of conditions and progress. Work for continuous improvement of instruction in his/her classes. Maintain a systematic plan for organization and presentation of daily teaching assignments. Lesson plans and outlines are necessary to ensure full use of available materials, both from text and supplementary sources. Lesson plans must be available at all times for use by substitutes and for reference by other teachers, department heads and administrators. Assure students utilization of prescribed textbooks. Work with department heads and administration in organizing and improving courses of study and the curriculum. Keep complete and accurate records of student grades and attendance. Roll book must be according to the specified form since it is subject to audit for ADM and is the final check for pupil grades and attendance. These permanent record books will be checked periodically by administrators. Seating charts in all classes and special duty assignments must be kept in class book for use by substitutes. Give prompt and careful attention to routine classroom matters. Health of students Care of furniture Absence slips and attendance matters. Lighting and ventilation Reports as required Individual differences of pupils.

Discipline:

classroom control is one of the prime factors of teaching, and the teacher is responsible for maintaining a condition in the classroom to promote the learning situation. Counsel students and contact the home when necessary. Cooperate with the counselor in any case which needs special attention. help supervise the conduct and welfare of all students on the school premises or at school functions. Care for and help protect school property Help stimulate and support student activities. Work through proper channels. Keep assigned students under direct supervision Monitor students' learning progress Build relationships with students and families Design, teach, and reinforce procedures. Build and maintain classroom culture. Communicate and maintain expectations. Set up the learning space. Encourage and motivate students. Couach students toward independence and self-advocacy. Build relationships with colleagues. Proactively problem-solve and troubleshoot. Monitor Chat Box during Live Lessons. Help set up Discussion Based Assessments (DBA's) Cose Communication with online teacher. Attend scheduled bi-weekly meetings to discuss student progress. Work alongside online programs Partnership Succuss Coach to ensure academic success of students.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the School Boards policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
