Immediate OpeningPosition SummaryTiverton Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction to student receiving homebound medical instruction. The successful candidate will deliver specially designed instruction in accordance with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborate with family and service providers.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide direct special education instruction to student receiving homebound medical instruction.
  • Implement IEP goals, accommodations, modifications, and specialized instructional strategies.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional activities aligned with individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with family, related service providers, and administrators.
  • Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of instructional sessions, attendance, and progress.
  • Participate in IEP Team meetings and provide input regarding student progress and educational needs.
  • Maintain compliance with IDEA, Rhode Island Department of Education regulations, and district procedures.
Qualifications
  • Rhode Island certification in Special Education Severe Intellectual Disabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities across a range of educational and functional needs.
  • Knowledge of special education law, IEP development, progress monitoring, and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
