Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Exceptional opportunity for educators specialized in teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students. This contract position offers full-time roles across multiple school locations in Greenwood, SC, serving K-12 students for the 2026-2027 academic year. The role is ideal for passionate professionals dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for children with hearing impairments.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver individualized instructional plans tailored to the unique needs of DHH students. Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, speech therapists, and families to support student success. Utilize a variety of communication methods, including sign language and assistive technology. Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly. Participate in professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge in DHH education.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent licensure. Experience working with
K-12 DHH
students preferred. Strong communication skills, both in sign language and spoken language. Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and parents. Commitment to creating an accessible and engaging learning environment.
