Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a difference in the lives of students by taking on one of several contract Special Education teaching opportunities for the upcoming school year. We are seeking passionate, skilled Special Education professionals for various settings within an educational environment near Greenwood, SC. These rewarding roles range from co-teaching and academic support to transition and self-contained classrooms. Here's a quick overview of open positions: "Core" Special Education teachers work collaboratively with a team on inclusion, co-teaching, academic interventions, and pull-out services. Resource/Academic Seminar teacher supporting students' individual academic needs in a smaller group or one-on-one setting. Transition Teacher guiding job placements, delivering transition-focused instruction, and coordinating select IEPs. Dedicated teacher for a self-contained classroom serving 5K students with disabilities, supported by two assistants, helping children gradually join mainstream classes. Lead teacher in a middle school self-contained setting for students with moderate disabilities, with the help of two classroom assistants.
Desired Experience/Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification. Previous experience in a school or special education environment is highly valued. Strong collaboration skills and a flexible, team-oriented mindset. Proficiency supporting IEPs, progress monitoring, and evidence-based interventions. Adaptability and dedication to diverse learner needs. Strong communication skills to engage with students, staff, and families.Role Responsibilities:
Create and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students' unique needs. Provide co-teaching, resource, direct instruction, and inclusion services as assigned. Monitor student progress and participate in IEP development and meetings. Foster a welcoming, inclusive classroom culture that celebrates student growth.
