Job Description

Step into a rewarding role shaping the futures of exceptional learners as a Special Education Teacher at the elementary level. This contract opportunity offers the chance to support students in a self-contained/extended resource classroom for grades K4-5th. Work alongside a dedicated team—one co-teaching/resource specialist, a K5 transition teacher, and a classroom assistant—to provide individualized support in a caring educational environment. You'll play a pivotal part in creating an inclusive, adaptive learning space for 8-12 students, some attending all day and others for targeted instruction in ELA and math. Your expertise will help drive meaningful growth and positive outcomes for students with diverse needs.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification for elementary grades Experience working with K-5 students with varying abilities, preferably in self-contained or extended resource settings Strong classroom management and differentiation skills Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student goals Collaborative spirit to work effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in ELA, math, and other core areas to students with various learning needs Partner with instructional assistant for classroom support and individualized interventions Track student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with IEP goals Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievements and needs Collaborate with fellow special educators to share best practices and ensure continuity of care This contract runs from July 17 through June 2, offering the chance to make a lasting impact over the exciting course of the school year.
