Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive elementary school environment with opportunities to shape young lives during the 2026-2027 school year. Contribute your expertise to dynamic pre-kindergarten classrooms, working on-site and collaborating with dedicated educators to foster inclusive education for early learners.
Key Qualifications:
Active South Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching license Required endorsements/certifications in Special Education for the relevant age group Passion for working with preschool and pre-K students (3K and 4K) Strong communication, classroom management, and co-teaching skills Previous experience in early childhood special education preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and individualized instruction in self-contained pre-K special education classrooms Adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs while upholding IEP goals and state standards Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to promote student growth Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions to foster social, emotional, and academic skill-building Maintain accurate records, progress monitoring, and IEP documentation in compliance with district and legal requirements Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
