Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their academic and personal growth for the 2026-2027 school year. We're seeking passionate and qualified Special Education Teachers for four open contract positions on Hilton Head Island. Positions are available at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, serving students with a range of support needs—from intensive intervention to supplemental assistance. Each opening offers the chance to work onsite within a collaborative, student-focused environment.
Available roles are as follows:
Elementary (Intensive Support/Autism) Elementary School for the Creative Arts (Supplemental) Middle School (Supplemental/Hybrid Support) High School (Supplemental) Key qualifications for consideration: Valid Special Education teaching credential Experience (or strong interest) in working with students requiring intensive or supplemental support, including autism spectrum needs Ability to adapt instruction and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Collaborative mindset and willingness to participate in school-wide initiatives and team meetings Strong organizational, record-keeping, and progress-monitoring skills Major responsibilities include: Delivering individualized and small-group instruction tailored to IEP goals Modifying lessons and classroom materials to meet diverse learning needs Collaborating with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Tracking student growth, maintaining accurate records, and participating in IEP meetings Fostering a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom culture This contract opportunity begins August 2026 and runs through June 2027.
