Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Moderate to Severe Special Education Teacher - St. George, SC We are hiring for a Moderate to Severe Special Education Teacher position in St. George, South Carolina. This role is ideal for a compassionate and highly organized educator who is experienced in supporting students with significant academic, behavioral, developmental, and functional needs. The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction, implement IEPs, support students with daily learning and life skills, and collaborate closely with school staff, families, and related service providers to help students make meaningful progress. Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, modifications, and services Support students with academic, functional, behavioral, and social-emotional skill development Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and families Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation for IEP compliance Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings Create a structured, supportive, and safe learning environment Provide direction and support to classroom paraprofessionals as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field Active South Carolina Special Education teaching license preferred Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred Strong classroom management, communication, and documentation skills Ability to collaborate effectively with school-based teams and families Compassionate, patient, and student-centered approach to instruction Benefits Competitive weekly pay Medical, dental, and vision insurance options 401(k) retirement plan Travel stipend plans for eligible candidates Professional support throughout the assignment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact with students who need specialized support Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled
