The Supervisor follows care guidelines, ensuring that guests' dietary, activity, and medical needs are met per owners' instructions. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of the guests and maintaining operational standards by following company policies and procedures. The Supervisor is also a point of support for team members, promoting a professional and caring image of The Ark through high work standards. What you'll do
Supervisor Duties:
Always ensure the safety and well-being of guests during their stay. Assign work areas and duties to Pet Care Specialist I & II team members. Schedule breaks and meal periods for
PCS I & II
team members. Supervise staff to ensure adherence to company policies regarding dress code, cell phone usage, and guest interaction. Act as the go-to person for staff concerns regarding guest care. Report all guest health issues immediately to the Resort Operations Manager. Oversee and assist with the cleaning and disinfecting of resort areas. Administer medications to guests as prescribed by veterinarians or requested by owners. Assist in training new staff members, including the use of equipment. Complete Daycare Evaluations and follow-ups with owners. Communicate directly with owners regarding guest behavior, health status, and concerns. Address owner complaints when Resort Operations Manager is unavailable. Explain services and conduct client tours as needed. Ensure the proper care and cleanliness of contracted areas and guests, where applicable. Attend Supervisor meetings as scheduled. Assist with minor disciplinary actions and communication with staff, following proper training. Assist with scheduling within the resort, after receiving training from upper management.
PCS I & II
Duties:
Daycare/Day Stay:
Ensure guests' safety and well-being by adhering to company guidelines and procedures. Exercise guests in daycare and provide personal playtime for guests boarding at the resort. Observe guests for signs of abnormal stool, urine, or other health indicators; collect samples if necessary and report to manager. Monitor and evaluate guest behavior for any signs of illness or injury, reporting concerns to the manager. Perform other duties as assigned.
Cleaning:
Clean, disinfect, and maintain resort areas, including outside potty areas, nap zones, food/water dishes, and common spaces. Re-stock areas with appropriate supplies, reporting any shortages to the manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Clean and maintain food/water dishes and ensure cats have clean litter pans. Sanitize guest rooms after departures and clean any soiled areas. Re-stock supplies and report shortages to the manager. Load, run, and unload dishwashers, washing, drying, and folding towels, bedding, and toys. Maintain cleanliness in laundry and kitchen areas. Empty trash and dispose of it as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Overnight Guests:
Accompany guests to and from their owners, providing a summary of activities and behavior. Prepare meals for guests according to specific instructions, monitoring their food/water intake. Conduct potty walks and track elimination, reporting any irregularities to the manager. Maintain accurate records for feeding, water, and elimination schedules, as well as general guest well-being and behavior. Complete guest activities from the à la carte menu and ensure proper sign-off. Assist team members in evaluating guests for signs of illness or injury and report concerns to the manager. Facilitate safe movement of guests throughout the resort during activities. Provide bathing services to guests when required. Take VIP photos and forward them to the front desk. Administer medications after completing proper training. Complete Pet CPR and First Aid training as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Cleaning Responsible for cleaning food/water dishes, keeping fresh water available to our guests; ensures cats have clean litter pans Daily cleaning of guest overnight rooms and room sanitation after guest departures Re-stocks all areas with appropriate supplies, reporting any shortages to supervisor on duty or by following ordering process Loads, runs and unloads dishwasher Washes, dries and folds guests' personal bedding/toys and resort bedding/toys/towels Keeps laundry / kitchen area clean and stocked Empties trash receptacles Transports trash to dumpster as needed Other duties as assigned Marketing Attends marketing events on as needed basis Conducts resort tours if Management and Supervisors are unavailable Qualifications Education/Experience High School diploma or GED 1 year of animal care experience or equivalent combination Desire to work with and around animals Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and write routine charts, reports and correspondence Ability to speak clearly and effectively with clients and team members Ability to read or listen and carry out instructions furnished in writing, oral or diagram form Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals Computer Skills Basic understanding of computer operations and the ability to learn industry-specific programs Other Skills and Abilities Available to work full time hours with open availability to better accommodate the needs of the resort schedule.
