A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

Warren County Board of Education Teacher Center Clerk Physical Demands:
This job requires lifting of objects that exceed 40 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects varying in weight up to 20 pounds such as copies or other materials. Physical demands vary daily. Duties to be assigned by the Teacher Center Director. Temperament (Personal Traits) 1. Adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Adaptability to deal with multiple people. Adaptability to making generalizations, evaluations, or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria. Capacity and Ability Requirements Specific capacities and abilities may be required of an individual in order to perform adequately a task or job duty. Ability to work with teachers, students, customers, and personnel. Answer emails and calls daily for orders and respond appropriately. Willing to learn to use different machines in the Teacher Center.
Examples:
laminators, copiers, computers, etc. Assisting customers. Help with deposits and deliver to our bookkeeper. Learn opening and closing duties of the Teacher Center. Stock supplies. Utilize a cash register and write receipts. Process credit card purchases. Have a good attitude and greet teachers and customers with a smile. Be willing to work with co-workers in a professional respectful manner. Work Conditions Normal working environment with a friendly atmosphere to achieve orders and help our Teachers and community with projects in a timely manner. Regular and punctual attendance required.
