Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Empower students with hearing differences to thrive academically and socially in a supportive school environment near the Chattanooga area. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to make a lasting impact for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing during the 2026-2027 school year. With caseload specifics and age group assignments to be finalized soon, you'll collaborate with a team dedicated to ensuring every learner's success.
Qualifications & Certification:
Current, active Department of Education certification required Experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students preferred Effective communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt teaching to individual student needs Willingness to work across multiple school sites (assignment varies) Fingerprinting and completion of all time-sensitive credentialing requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in individual and small group settings Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the district Serve as an advocate and resource for Deaf/Hard of Hearing awareness and best practices within the school setting Participate in professional development to remain current in instructional strategies and assistive technologies Why consider this role?
