Job Description

Callisburg High/Middle School - Inclusion Teacher / Assistant Coach (2026-2027 School Year) Callisburg High/Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Inclusion Teacher / Assistant Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. Callisburg is a small 3A rural district located just east of Gainesville in the heart of Texoma. The culture of Callisburg High School is one that supports teacher growth, retention, and accountability. Our students are highly active in all aspects of extracurricular activities, ranging from one of the largest FFA/Ag programs in the area, highly competitive athletic programs with new and newly updated facilities, an Academic UIL Program with a long history of success and multiple state championships, a Robotics and Drones program, and the largest Flag Program in the United States. The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring student success through collaboration, relationship building, and high-quality instructional support. Candidates should possess strong organizational and communication skills, a growth mindset, and a willingness to contribute positively to both the academic and athletic programs of the school. Key Job Responsibilities Instructional Support & Inclusion Services Collaborate with general education teachers to support students receiving special education services in the inclusion setting. Assist in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), accommodations, and modifications. Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation. Provide targeted academic interventions and support to maximize student achievement. Foster student independence, self-advocacy, and engagement in the learning process. Collaboration & Compliance Participate in ARD meetings and collaborate with special education staff, administrators, parents, and general education teachers. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and support strategies. Classroom Support Assist in maintaining a positive, safe, and productive learning environment. Support classroom management and behavior intervention strategies. Utilize technology and instructional best practices to enhance student learning. Coaching Responsibilities Serve as an assistant coach in an assigned athletic program. Support the head coach in planning, organizing, and supervising practices, competitions, and offseason activities. Promote sportsmanship, character development, accountability, and academic success among student-athletes. Assist with game-day operations, travel, equipment management, and program development. Qualifications and Requirements Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Certification Valid Texas Teacher Certificate, Special Education certification a definite plus. Additional content-area certifications preferred. Experience Experience working with students receiving special education services preferred. Coaching experience is preferred but not required. Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Core Skills Student-Centered Mindset Commitment to helping all students achieve academic and personal success. Adaptability Ability to adjust instructional and behavioral supports to meet diverse student needs.
