Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Take your experience as a Special Education Teacher to the next level by contributing to students' growth and success over the 2026-2027 school year. Full-time positions (40 hours per week) are available for dedicated educators across the district, with placement matched to your certifications, previous teaching experience, and the grade levels served (EC-12). New Teacher Orientation begins 8/3/2026, the school year starts 8/17/2026, and concludes 5/27/2027, offering a comprehensive opportunity to make a meaningful impact in students' lives.
Qualifications:
Valid Texas Teaching Certification required Must hold a Special Education EC-12 certification In addition, must possess at least one of the following: EC-6 Core Subjects, 4-8 Generalist, or 9-12 specific subject certification Demonstrated commitment to supporting all learners in an inclusive educational environment Strong collaboration and communication skills essential for working with colleagues, families, and support staff
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging instruction and specialized interventions in accordance with student IEPs across specified grade levels Collaborate closely with general education staff and other professionals to foster inclusive learning opportunities Develop and adapt lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning needs Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities Monitor, document, and report on student progress and behavior You will be eligible for weekly pay and an hourly rate of $39-42, which is determined by your degree, certifications, and experience.
