Great Hearts:

Latin is not an elective at Great Hearts, but part of the core curriculum. All Great Hearts students study Latin from 6th through 8th grade, with an option to pursue the classics track in high school, studying advanced Latin and Ancient Greek. Many academies offer Latin at K-5 as well. Latin provides an essential foundation for our academies' focus on the Western tradition through its incorporation of history and culture. Rigorous and detailed Latin lessons will develop students that can translate texts from the original Latin to English through Socratic discussion.

Requirements for teaching:
