A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification for Texas Previous experience working with K-12 students with exceptionalities Familiarity with resource/inclusion, self-contained, and structured/life skills classrooms preferred Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Exceptional adaptability and problem-solving skillsKey Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated instruction within assigned classroom setting Modify curriculum and adapt teaching strategies to meet individualized learning needs Monitor student progress and document outcomes in accordance with IEP goals Collaborate closely with general education teachers and related service providers Foster a positive, supportive, and structured environment for all learnersWhat You'll Enjoy:
