School Age Teacher FunCare Childrens Center La Porte, TX Job Details Part-time $10 - $15 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification High school diploma or GED First Aid Certification Working with students First aid and CPR Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated School Age Teacher to inspire and support children during their after-school hours and camp activities. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your passion for working with children and your ability to manage a dynamic classroom will help foster a positive learning experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' lives while developing your skills in early childhood education and child development. Responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills for school-aged children. Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, including sports coaching, arts and crafts, theater, and other enrichment programs. Maintain safety standards by practicing first aid when necessary and adhering to all health and safety guidelines. Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to support each child's individual needs, including those requiring special education or behavioral support. Facilitate tutoring sessions or homework assistance to reinforce learning objectives. Support children's emotional well-being through Christian counseling principles or other nurturing approaches as appropriate. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, babysitting, tutoring, or early childhood education is highly preferred. Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and needs. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus. Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in childcare and early education. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Ability to create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment that encourages growth and exploration. Passion for working with students of all backgrounds with a commitment to fostering their academic success and personal development.
