Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Advance your career as a Special Education Case Manager serving a vibrant school community in the North Austin area. This contract position spans the hours of 7:30-7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and plays a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. As the ARD Facilitator and 504 Coordinator, you'll oversee a caseload of approximately 200 students, working hand-in-hand with Special Education staff to maintain compliance and lead ARD meetings. The position includes coordination for students with dyslexia, speech, and other special education needs, and utilizes SuccessEd for documentation and case management. While personal laptops for work use are preferred, a device may be provided if necessary.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Valid Texas Department of Education License - Special Education required Demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager Strong background serving as an ARD Facilitator and coordinating 504 Plans Comfortable moderating Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and families Adherence to district dress code policies (including reserved appearance guidelines)

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage and track the accommodation needs and plans for a large and diverse student caseload Facilitate ARD and 504 meetings, ensuring all required documentation is completed through SuccessEd Coordinate and communicate regularly with teachers, specialists, and families to ensure compliance and best practices Maintain student records and provide expert guidance to staff regarding special education law and best practices
