Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with special needs for the 26/27 school year near Pflugerville, TX. This role offers four full-time openings in various specialized programs across both elementary and middle school levels. Your expertise will make a meaningful impact, with placements available in the CORE behavior program (middle school), general CORE program (middle school), Structured Learning life skills (elementary school), and an additional Structured Learning classroom (elementary school).

Desired Qualifications:

Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Texas, or eligibility to obtain) Previous experience in special education preferred, particularly in behavioral or structured learning settings Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong collaborative skills for working with teachers, staff, and families Dedication to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction in assigned CORE or Structured Learning classrooms Modify curriculum and provide accommodations based on individual student needs Manage and implement behavioral support strategies where appropriate Develop and maintain IEPs, track student progress, and participate in ARD meetings Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and aides Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that supports social, emotional, and academic development
