Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting K-12 learners as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. Set near the Texas City area, you'll provide essential services just one day per week, working flexible hours alongside school staff and families. Your specialized knowledge will help foster independence, confidence, and success for students who are visually impaired.
What You Bring:
Master's degree required Valid TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) Certification Previous experience working in a school-based setting Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit Enthusiasm for advocating on behalf of students with visual impairments
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct specialized instruction and adaptive strategies to K-12 students with visual impairments Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Assess students' functional vision and learning needs across a range of ages Consult with general education staff on accommodations, assistive technology, and classroom modifications Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional insight for student growth
