A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
Active Texas General Education and Special Education Certification is required. Previous experience in a self-contained special education or ECSE classroom setting is strongly preferred. Proficiency in designing and adapting curriculum for diverse learners. Ability to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and work closely with multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and administration.Key Responsibilities:
Create a supportive, structured classroom that encourages student engagement and achievement. Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual learning needs. Manage classroom behavior and facilitate a safe, inclusive environment. Collect data and assess student progress, making adjustments to instruction as needed.
