Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students' growth and success as a Life Skills Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, in-person contract position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in a K-3 classroom, focusing on life skills instruction and individualized support. You'll work closely with students in a supportive educational setting near South Jordan, UT, guiding them through their academic, social, and behavioral development.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher license or certification from the state of Utah Experience instructing or supporting students in special education, particularly with life skills or similar caseloads Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, colleagues, and families Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment Ability to differentiate instruction based on individual educational plans (IEPs)
Responsibilities:
Design and implement lesson plans centered on life skills and academic growth for K-3 students Assess student progress, adapting strategies and materials as needed Develop, coordinate, and deliver IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines Foster independence and social development for students with diverse learning needs Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other educators for holistic student support Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communication with families This contract opportunity allows you to contribute your expertise across the 2026-2027 school year, making a difference in the lives of young learners each day.
