Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a positive impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a K-3 Life Skills classroom for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time, in-person contract role offers the opportunity to be part of a dedicated team, working with elementary-aged learners in a supportive, resource-rich environment. You'll collaborate with fellow educators and staff to encourage growth and achievement for each child, tailoring your approach to meet the needs of your diverse classroom.
Qualifications:
Active Utah Special Education Teacher license or certification required Background or interest in elementary-level, K-3 special education and life skills instruction Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with varying abilities Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach Ability to adapt teaching strategies to fit the needs of each student
Responsibilities:
Guide a K-3 Life Skills classroom, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to student goals and abilities Collaborate with general education teachers, paraeducators, and support staff Monitor student progress, documenting growth and adjusting plans as needed Engage with families, providing regular updates on student development Implement effective classroom management and behavioral support strategies Participate in school meetings, IEP conferences, and ongoing professional development As you shape young lives in this rewarding contract position, you'll work in a collaborative and caring school setting dedicated to the success of every student.
