Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Contribute your expertise in an in-person, full-time role focused on Life Skills instruction within a K-3 classroom setting. This is a contract position perfectly suited for educators passionate about making a difference and seeking an engaging environment where every day brings meaningful challenges and successes.
Qualifications:
Current Utah Special Education teaching license or certification is required. Experience working in a Life Skills or similar Special Education classroom is highly desirable. Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and best practices for supporting diverse learning needs. Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment for young learners. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored life skills instruction to elementary students in K-3, ensuring lesson plans align with IEP goals. Assess student abilities, document progress, and adapt strategies to promote achievement and personal growth. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and family members to foster holistic support for each child. Implement classroom management strategies that encourage student engagement and positive behavior. Maintain accurate records in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
