Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Exciting opportunities are available for passionate Special Education Teachers for the upcoming 26/27 school year! We are seeking dedicated educators to fill four full-time contract roles in a supportive school environment near Accomac, VA. Flexible placement options include two elementary (K-5) inclusion positions, one elementary (K-5) self-contained role, and one middle school (grades 6-8) inclusion position. Each position offers excellent para support, fostering a collaborative and enriching setting for both educators and students.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field Previous experience in an inclusion or self-contained classroom setting preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs Passion for nurturing growth and supporting student success
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to IEP goals and individual learner profiles Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Foster an inclusive, positive, and structured class environment Engage families and guardians in the educational process Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed Create a welcoming, respectful classroom climate
