POSITION TITLE:
Industrial Maintenance - Mechanic/Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
Must be eligible to obtain a Virginia Technical Professional License with appropriate endorsement Must hold an Industrial Maintenance Diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of five (5) years of related occupational experience Must have an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 Certification Must have the ability to manage a supply budget Must have the ability to maintain accurate inventory records and order supplies and equipment using appropriate procurement procedures
PREFERRED
Prior teaching experience Demonstrated experience in curriculum and course design and development Demonstrated ability to work with a widely diverse faculty, staff and student population Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Hold experience or proficiency in the following: Industrial Maintenance Mechanics practices and principles Understanding of HVAC requirements Industry safety concepts and practices Industrial methods and tool use Practical industrial maintenance mechanical practices and college success skills Pumping experience, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and fundamentals of welding Understanding of third angle projection Engineering Drawings Proficient with manual lathes and vertical milling machines Proficient with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), as well as manual measurement equipment Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Participate in curriculum review and design Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning Create a safe laboratory environment, following OSHA standards for safe practices Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required Effectively implement District initiatives Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers

Abide by State statutes, School Board policies and regulations Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Maintain an active SkillsUSA student organization, providing leadership opportunities at the District, State, and National levels Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy and administrative regulations Serve on committees as assigned Remain current on instructional practices in education (e.g. instructional technology)
SALARY RANGE
$51,404.83 - $80,546.84
