Special Education Teacher Inova Health System United States, Virginia, Fairfax 8095 Innovation Park Drive (Show on map) Jun 03, 2026 Inova Kellar Center Day School is seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team. We are specifically looking for a teacher to work with students with Low-Functioning Autism (LFA). This full-time position offers a Monday-Friday day shift schedule (7:45 a.m.
  • 4:00 p.

The Special Education Teacher establishes and maintains a therapeutic/pro-social learning environment while monitoring, reviewing, and revising individual education plans (IEP) as needed. Completes progress documentation such as report cards, assessments and IEP progress reports for parents and the local education agency. Participates in staff/committee meetings in addition to planning and implementing developmentally appropriate daily lesson plans and therapeutic teaching strategies consistent with IEP goals, objectives, transition plans and the Virginia Standards of Learning is of vital importance. Provides assessments, planning, treatments, interventions, and evaluations to patients with addictions. Engages students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certification
  • Basic Life Support and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation within 3 months Licensure
  • Collegiate Professional License, or Postgraduate professional license or provisional license with the Department of Education, Commonwealth of Virginia, within 6 months Experience
  • One year of professional experience in a school setting. Education
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with students with level 3 autism spectrum disorder (LFA)
