A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students across a district-wide caseload. This contract position, located near Fredericksburg, VA, begins as soon as possible and runs through May 2027. In this role, you will: Serve students ranging from PreK to 12th grade, some needing consultative support and others requiring more intensive service minutes. Adapt instructional materials and classroom environments to facilitate maximum independence and access for visually impaired students. Work collaboratively with general and special educators, related service providers, and families. Provide direct and consultative services, participating in IEP development and implementation. Travel between multiple school sites as needed, based on evolving caseload assignments. Maintain thorough documentation and communication to support student progress and compliance.

Qualifications:

Hold an active Virginia Department of Education (VA DOE) certification for teaching students with visual impairments. Ability to begin immediate credentialing, including the VA Department of Social Services background check and TB testing. Prior experience in a school setting and/or with a diverse student caseload is preferred. Confidence and resourcefulness in serving a rapidly growing population of students needing vision services.
