Immediately Job Description Beginning the 2026-2027 school year. Work is performed under the general supervision of the building principal, or designee. This is an exempt position as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employees holding exempt positions often are required to follow a flexible work schedule, which may include working extended hours to meet specific job responsibilities. The contracted salary covers all hours worked. This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. Hold the Collegiate Professional License with a specific endorsement in the area to which assigned; have an acceptable rating for any teaching experience noted on the application; and have demonstrated the personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, school personnel and members of the community.Responsibilities include:

To accept responsibilities outside the classroom as they relate to the school. To use instructional and planning time effectively. To assume responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities. To assume responsibility for a neat, safe environment for students committed to the teacher's care. To practice and promote positive interaction with and among students. To demonstrate enthusiasm for learning. To demonstrate interest in students. To encourage self-direction and self-motivation in students. To demonstrate knowledge of the subject being taught. To demonstrate the ability to adjust presentation of subject content to students' needs and interests. To maintain an organized program of instruction based on effective long-range plans. To exhibit evidence of effective lesson plans. To utilize a variety of appropriate materials and resources. To communicate lesson objective and its importance to students. To utilize appropriate and varied teaching techniques and learning activities. To use out-of-class assignments, when appropriate, to support instructional objectives. To maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and to inform appropriate persons. To maintain discipline appropriate to learning situation. To keep students on task.
