Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a real impact supporting students' learning and development in a collaborative environment dedicated to exceptional education. Two full-time opportunities are available for experienced educators passionate about special education, working with a small group of elementary students in well-supported classrooms. What you'll bring: Valid Special Education Teacher certification (appropriate for elementary grades) Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs), differentiated instruction, and behavioral management techniques Previous experience working with elementary-age students in a special education setting preferred Strong communication and organizational skills to partner effectively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families Ability to foster a nurturing and structured classroom environment Adaptability and enthusiasm for working with diverse learning styles and needs Your responsibilities: Deliver engaging instruction for life skills and academic content in grades K-5, utilizing evidence-based strategies Manage a classroom with ten or fewer students, with paraprofessionals available for instruction and support Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans and goals to ensure student progress and success Utilize data to modify instruction, track progress, and communicate with families and staff Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their independence, confidence, and social skills Collaborate with general education teachers, resource staff, and administration to promote inclusion and access Enjoy the rewards of fostering meaningful growth in students' academic and daily living skills, and benefit from a supportive team environment focused on professional collaboration.
