Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in a supportive educational setting as a Special Education Teacher, guiding a dedicated life skills class through the remainder of the school year. This contract position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities based on your availability and preference, allowing you to bring your expertise to a close-knit group of five amazing students.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience in special education settings, ideally with life skills curriculum Ability to adapt lessons to individual learning needs and IEP requirements Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families Commitment to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Instruct a small class of five students on essential life skills, focusing on individualized growth and achieving IEP goals Develop, implement, and modify lesson plans to foster academic, functional, and social-emotional progress Assess and monitor student performance, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure every child thrives Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service providers to support comprehensive education Engage families in their child's learning, communicating progress and addressing concerns
