Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting a life skills class for a small group of students. This contract role is available either part-time or full-time through the end of the school year and provides the opportunity to work closely with a group of five students who benefit from individualized programming and attention. Bring your expertise in special education to a supportive environment where collaboration and creativity are valued. As you guide students in life skills and academic growth, you'll play a key part in equipping them for greater independence and success.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience leading or assisting life skills classes preferred Strong understanding of IEPs and differentiated instruction Ability to collaborate with other staff and support team-based approaches Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to student IEPs, focusing on life skills and core academics Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as necessary Communicate regularly with parents and care teams on student development Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and collaborative planning Provide individualized support and encouragement to each student This is an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact, with the flexibility to choose full-time or part-time hours depending on your availability.
