Special Education Teacher - Woodstock, Vermont

Job Description

Step into a supportive and collaborative educational community as a Special Education Teacher at a 5/6 school known for its vibrant, dynamic program. Under the leadership of a principal with a special education background, you'll work alongside a full-time interventionist and an SEL counselor, ensuring students have access to a range of resources to help them succeed.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification in Special Education Prior experience working with students with mild to moderate specific learning disabilities Strong skills in developing and implementing IEPs, particularly targeting math and literacy support Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff and support personnel Excellent communication and organizational abilities Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of approximately 22 students, providing individualized and small group instruction Develop, adapt, and deliver lesson plans that support learners with SLDs, mainly in math and literacy Collaborate with the interventionist, SEL counselor, and general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications Monitor, assess, and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals Maintain regular communication with families and participate in IEP meetings Contribute to the school's vibrant culture, supporting initiatives that promote student well-being and success Perks of this
