This role will lead a comprehensive program focused on Energy and Electrical Trades and Pathways, providing high-quality instruction in Math for the Trades, Applied Electrical Fundamentals, and Energy Production and Management. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues to design OSPI-aligned curriculum, managing a safe and professional lab environment, and foster industry connections through internships and the SkillsUSA program. The successful candidate will collaborate with advisory committees to develop student career pathways and secure industry-recognized certifications, ensuring graduates are prepared for high-demand technical apprenticeships or post-secondary education. This role requires a valid Washington State CTE Certificate and a dedication to bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world trade applications.Job Duties:
Demonstrated knowledge of, ability to implement, and willingness to design curriculum aligned with OSPI-approved Skilled and Technical Sciences Curriculum Frameworks and established competencies. Collaborate with department staff to develop and revise curriculum, career pathways, State Approved Equivalencies, Industry Recognized Certificates (IRCs), and Work-Based Learning opportunities integrated into coursework. Develop and implement an Electronics Program and Math for the Trades curriculum while creating pathways for students to gain hands-on industry experience through internships and partnerships with local employers. Provide guidance and support to students participating in Skilled and Technical Pathways, including connections to internship, mentorship, apprenticeship, and career exploration opportunities within the community. Provide leadership and direction for the Skilled and Technical Sciences Advisory Committee and assist in the development and implementation of the department's four-year strategic plan. Serve as an active advisor and collaborative team member within the SkillsUSA program, including leadership, supervision, and student support responsibilities. Fulfill responsibilities associated with rotating "Go To" Advisor and "Go To" CTSO Advisor assignments with professionalism and follow-through. Maintain high expectations for student achievement and academic success. Demonstrate effective instructional strategies and classroom management practices. Recognize and respond to diverse student learning needs through differentiated instructional strategies and supports. Deliver intentional, standards-based instruction focused on subject matter content and curriculum outcomes. Foster and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for all students. Utilize multiple forms of student data to inform instructional decisions and improve student learning outcomes. Communicate effectively and collaborate with parents, staff, industry partners, and the broader school community. Demonstrate collaborative, collegial, and professional practices focused on continuous improvement of instruction and student learning. Assist in establishing and maintaining Dual Credit articulation agreements between Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) and the Eastmont Skilled and Technical Sciences Department. Extracurricular coaching or activity assignments outside of CTE may be approved on a case-by-case basis due to the additional contracted days and extracurricular responsibilities associated with SkillsUSA and CTSO leadership. Maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and reliability.Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Possess or qualify for immediate issuance of a valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s): Career & Technical Education Certificate in Skilled and Technical Sciences Willingness to obtain any additional certification required for instruction of courses under the Skilled & Technical umbrella. Applicant must meet NCLB standards as Highly Qualified in core subject areas. Commitment to the education profession as evidenced by participation in curriculum development projects, District or building-level committees, professional organizations, and by evidence of continuing education in the Skilled & Technical Sciences area. 3. Previous teaching experience in Skilled and Technical Education preferred. 4. Ability and willingness to work effectively with peers in a professional learning community (PLC). 5. Ability and willingness to work with both middle and high school age students is essential. 6. Willingness and flexibility to teach courses as assigned within the Skilled and Technical Sciences umbrella of offerings.Working Conditions:
Ability to promote collaboration and communicate in stressful situations May be required to attend meetings and activities beyond regular work hours. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Ability to regularly walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and occasionally sprint at a rapid speed in pursuit of a student.
