Current experience teaching the grade level which is being applied for is required. Provide instruction to summer school students and ensure supplemental instruction of eligible students per Migrant and TBIP guidelines. Provide explicit instruction of targeted vocabulary and ensure students are receiving frequent exposure. Lead implementation of the GLAD Thematic units using the NCESD Science kits Ability to plan for, design, and maintain age-appropriate Science, Math, SEL, ELA, and Art program Design, teach, and evaluate daily lessons for the classroom Provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their STEAM abilities to other students, parents, and the community through concerts, assemblies, and other public performances. Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instructional activities consistent with building and adopted district curriculum. Diagnose and prescribe learning and training programs for individual pupils based on student aptitude and interest. Provide instructional scaffolds for the individual needs of assigned students. Demonstrate positive classroom management techniques for the large classroom setting. Participate in appropriate activities, support programs, and building and district in-service education/training program Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality in all matters about students, parents, staff, and the program. Coordinate thematic learning that leads to end-of-year culminating field experiences Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned Experience working with other staff members to accomplish common goals and to develop appropriate instructional Confer and communicate with students, parents or guardians, and other staff, openly and positively to provide guidance, evaluation, and encouragement of student Maintain a safe and secure environment for all Excellent attendance and punctuality are required.Qualifications:
Possess (or qualify for immediate issuance) a valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s): K-8 Education required. ELD or ESL endorsement preferred Experience in working with elementary students preferred. Proven ability to use resources such as Google Translate to effectively provide fundamental communication with parents. Understanding and knowledge of elementary school students. Strong skills and background in instructional methods and strategies. Demonstrated ability to prescribe appropriate instruction and training; use a variety of teaching materials and strategies; plan and carry out instruction to meet varied needs of students. Ability to establish rapport with students, colleagues, and classified personnel. Other instructional duties may be assigned.Physical Requirements:
The job's functions require the following physical demands: Occasional lifting (up to 30 pounds); carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and significant reaching, handling, speaking, writing, hearing, and fine finger dexterity; frequent standing, walking, and sitting. Significant exposure to loud noises.
