Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with visual impairments for the 2026-2027 academic year. This onsite, part-time role offers the chance to make a lasting difference for learners who need specialized instruction in a supportive environment. You'll be engaged with a caseload of eight students, providing a mix of weekly, monthly, and quarterly service minutes that total approximately 15 hours each week.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Washington Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required Must complete fingerprinting through the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Demonstrated experience or coursework in teaching students with visual impairments Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptive teaching skillsRole Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, following each student's IEP or 504 Plan Develop and implement learning materials in accessible formats, utilizing Braille and adaptive technologies as needed Maintain accurate records of student progress, service minutes, and required documentation for compliance Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teams, and families to support inclusive educational environments Conduct assessments, contribute to IEP meetings, and provide expertise on accessibility and accommodations This position allows you to focus deeply on student growth and meaningful instruction, working onsite with strong support from colleagues and school staff. You'll help students become confident, independent learners—an impact that lasts well beyond the school year.
