La Center High School ismitted to expanding high-quality CTE pathways that prepare students for postsecondary education and careers in the Skilled Trades. The program includes access to a dedicated Skilled Trades facility and strong connections with local industry partners. The successful candidate will play a key role in continuing to build and refine this program. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and grow a dynamic Skilled Trades program, including Core Plus. The successful candidate will teach Core Plus Construction, Auto Tech, Small Engine Repair, and Welding classes. This is a 1.0 FTE continuing position. This position is covered by the LCEA Negotiated Agreement. The successful candidate must be fingered. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.Essential Functions:
Successfullyplete all duties related to the role of CTE teacher (e.g. updating frameworks, serving on the CTE Advisory Panel, attending Advisory meetings, overseeing CTSO, etc.) Integrate industry standards, safety practices, and real-world applications into instruction Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses and industry professionals Support students in earning industry-recognized certifications and exploring career pathways Facilitate hands-on, project-based learning experiences aligned to workforce needs Plan and implement a program of study to follow State and District standards that meet the individual needs and abilities of students by providing effective differentiated instruction using research-based practices Annually establish student growth goals and develop strategies to ensure student growth Implement instructional methods and materials that are identified best practices for achieving stated objectives for instruction and student success, including the use of technology Guide the learning process toward the achievement of student oues Collaborate with other staff to cooperatively plan, develop, and implement a course of instruction designed to meet the needs of students in all curriculum areas Educate special needs students within the regular classroom environment in collaboration with other staff Create a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning for all students Collaborate with other staff to cooperatively develop effective, positive approaches for improving student behavior Fulfill District, State and Federal testing requirements Provide positive supports and guidance to a diverse population Effectively manage student behavior Assess students' academic learning and/or skills for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. Advise families of student progress for the purpose of supporting teacher's expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals Maintain accurate,plete, confidential and timely records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations including attendance, IEP information, progress reports, cumulative records, and classroom inventory Collaborate with school personnel and parents for the purpose of improving the quality of student performance, developing solutions and planning curriculum Collaborate as a team to establish patterns of support with potential non-certificated personnel Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude when carrying out responsibilities as a faculty member Participate in building programs, including assemblies, contests, and other student activities Contribute to the collaborative effort of all staff to meet individual student needs through participation in staff meetings, in-service programs, workshops, and seminars Participate in activities beyond the regularly scheduled work day, as needed Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, andmunity partners Attend required trainings and professional development opportunities to broaden expertise in the field of teaching Maintain a neat, clean personal appearance and traits of a good role model for students; work apparel should be appropriate for a safe and professional work environment Provide a safe learning environment for all students Regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position Perform other related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:
Possess or immediately qualify for a Washington State CTE teaching certificate with endorsements in one or more of the following skilled trades: CTE Technology, Construction Trades, Automotive Technology, Precision Metal Works Occupational experience may be considered in lieu of current certification Willingness and ability to earn endorsements in Worksite Learning and Career Choices Willingness and ability topleteCORE PLUS
Construction training Willingness and ability to serve as a SkillsUSA Advisor and support student leadership andpetitive opportunities Current CPR/First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification, is requiredPreferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in construction trades, automotive technology, and/or weldingKledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Some stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing and/or pulling and fine finger dexterity are required May experience prolonged exposure to visual display terminals as required Ability to lift at least twenty (20) pounds with assistanceSalary:
Base pay is $61,332-$115,601 plus additional supplemental days at per diem per theLCEA Negotiated Agreement. Salary placement is based on documented education and experience.Benefits:
This position is eligible for a generous benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their qualified dependents. Employer-paid basic Life, long-term disability, and AD & D insurance are available to the employee only. Additional benefits include retirement through the Washington State Department of Retirement and optional supplemental benefits including supplemental Life, employee-paid long-term disability, FSA, DCAP, and deferredpensation. Paid leave benefits include two (2) days of personal leave and twelve (12) days of sick leave per school year.
