QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Washington State teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement Bachelor's degree with specialization in Special Education; Master's preferred Thorough knowledge of applicable Washington State and Federal rules and regulations Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff Ability to evaluate and write IEP's and familiarity with inclusion/mainstreaming essential Knowledge of Washington State education trends and the use of technology in the classroom Experience working with students with social, emotional and behavioral challenges Ability to provide a highly structured learning environment and work with a team Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and positive attitude required
GENERAL INFORMATION
This is a pool posting for Special Education positions that are currently or may become available for the 2026-2027 school year. As part of a Professional Learning Community team, the Special Education teacher provides instruction to special needs students in Resource Room, Life Skills, and Choices settings, develops and implements IEP's, supervises paraeducators, and is responsible for case management ensuring school success.
